Michael Torke: Sky Violin Concerto
Rachmaninoff: Symphony No. 2

Michael Francis leads a night that stretches from front-porch energy to full-on symphonic sweep. Violinist Tessa Lark doesn’t stay in just one lane. Known for her roots in bluegrass as much as her classical chops, she takes center stage in Michael Torke’s Sky Violin Concerto, written just for her. It’s fast, fearless and full of toe-tapping rhythm. Then comes Rachmaninoff’s Symphony No. 2. Lush, expansive and unapologetically romantic, it unfolds in long, sweeping lines that seem to go on forever.
