Growing up in Holmdel, New Jersey, Jessica started cello at age 7. She soon continued her studies at Juilliard Pre-College, and eventually went on to earn both her bachelors and masters degrees at Juilliard, studying with Joel Krosnick and Clara Minhye Kim.

Throughout her career, Jessica has performed at prestigious programs such as Spoleto Festival USA, The Perlman Music Program Chamber Music Intensive, Music Academy of the West, and Kneisel Hall. Although she loves performing in an orchestra and as a chamber musician, Jessica also discovered her passion for community engagement. Awarded with different teaching fellowships and managing her own volunteer groups, Jessica was able to share her knowledge and love of music at schools around the Manhattan area.

After graduating, Jessica continued her orchestral career at the New World Symphony under the baton of both Michael Tilson Thomas and Stéphane Denève. While her skills as an orchestral musician grew, she also stayed true to her love of outreach and education. She was involved in running sectionals with local students in the Miami area, taught lessons at New World’s partner school in Medellín, Colombia, and provided music regularly for patients, parents, and staff at the local children’s hospital.

Jessica has just finished her time in Miami, and is excited to start her new chapter as the Cello Teaching Artist with TFO. Not only will she be able to play with an incredible ensemble, but she also gets to continue her passion for community engagement. Throughout her career, she has always emphasized the importance of connecting with those around her and using music as a bridge to younger and newer audiences. Whether it is by mentoring younger kids, or teaching schools in the area, she cannot wait to begin forming new and meaningful experiences with the Pinellas County school system and TFO.

When she’s not making music, Jessica enjoys her free time exploring different cafes and restaurants in the area.
