Eugeniu Cheremoush, a Moldovan-American violinist, joined The Florida Orchestra in the 2024-2025 season. Eugeniu earned master’s degrees from both the Shepherd School of Music and the Cleveland Institute of Music under Paul Kantor.

Before joining the orchestra, Eugeniu enjoyed a freelance career in Houston, where he often appeared with the Houston Grand Opera, Houston Ballet, Mercury Baroque Orchestra and the Texas New Music Ensemble. As a passionate educator, Eugeniu engaged in educational and performance outreach programs focused on fostering community development.

In 2016, Eugeniu participated in the Pacific Music Festival in Sapporo, Japan. In the summers of 2011-2014, Eugeniu received the Starling Fellowship Award and ACA fellowship Award at the Aspen Music Festival and School. In his youth, Eugeniu participated and placed in international violin competitions in Romania, Moldova, Ukraine and Bulgaria. Eugeniu appeared as a soloist with the National Philharmonic Orchestra of Moldova and the Orchestra of Opera and Ballet.

Outside of his classical music career, Eugeniu enjoys exploring diverse musical genres such as jazz, flamenco and folk music. Outside music, Eugeniu enjoys bouldering, weightlifting, cooking and going to the beach.
