If you want Sting tickets Monday, here’s the deal

Ever since we announced The Florida Orchestra’s 50th anniversary gala concert with Sting, it’s been pretty crazy at the orchestra offices. It quickly became apparent that because this is not a typical Florida Orchestra concert, we could not sell tickets the typical way. Never have this problem with Shostakovich!

So we’ve had to make some changes to our ticket policy for this concert only. When tickets go on sale Monday (Sept. 25) to TFO subscribers and top-tier donors exclusively, here’s how it will work:

I’m a subscriber. How can I order Sting tickets on Monday?

Tickets go on sale at 9 am by phone at 727.892.3337 or in person at The Florida Orchestra Ticket Center, 163 Third St. N, St. Petersburg.

These tickets will not be available online.

Tickets are $75, $100, $150, $250, $375 and $450. Service charges will apply, including $4 per ticket for in-person orders and $6 per ticket for phone orders (that also includes a facility fee that goes directly to the venue). Concert tickets do not include gala reception or dinner.

Is there a limit on the number of tickets I can order?

Tickets are limited to four per subscriber/donor household. Also, be prepared for your first choice price section to be sold out, as table buyers for the Gala fundraising dinner had first choice of seat selection.

If I’m a subscriber, am I guaranteed tickets?

Tickets will be available on a first-come, first-served basis. Voicemails left for the Ticket Center will be returned in the order they are received. We are a small staff, so we appreciate your patience and cooperation.

Even though subscribers and donors get first crack at tickets, there are no guarantees. The Mahaffey Theater seats about 2,000, which will make it a wonderful, intimate concert. But the orchestra has several thousand subscribers.

Tickets go on sale to the general public Oct. 2. Is it possible there will be no tickets left?

There is no guarantee that tickets still will be available Oct. 2.

But remember, this is a fundraising concert to support The Florida Orchestra. A sell-out would be awesome!
