This is one of those programs that just feels good from start to finish. Violinist Jeffrey Multer leads and steps into the spotlight for Mozart’s Violin Concerto No. 5, the “Turkish.” It’s Mozart at his most entertaining: elegant one moment, sly and surprising the next. The mood shifts with George Walker’s Lyric for Strings. Then comes a first step that changed everything: Beethoven’s Symphony No. 1.
