Classical? Yes. Predictable? Not even close. Conductor Kevin John Edusei takes the podium for a program that zigzags through the 20th century. It starts in the offbeat world of Igor Stravinsky’s Petrushka. Then Frank Zappa’s The Yellow Shark selections bring electric energy. Pianist Makoto Ozone performs George Gershwin’s Rhapsody in Blue, where jazz meets the concert hall in one of the most iconic American sounds ever written.

Classical Kids & Teens: Kids and teens ages 5-18 get in free to all Masterworks concerts with Classical Kids tickets, thanks in part to the generous support of The Sibbri Foundation. At least one paying adult purchase is required per order, and other restrictions apply. These tickets are available in advance only through The Florida Orchestra Ticket Center. For more information and tickets, call 727.892.3337.
