The Florida Orchestra is partnering with organizations across Tampa Bay to present interactive chamber music concerts for families of children in pre-K through 2nd grade. Be sure to arrive early for musical playtime, beginning 30 minutes before the concert.
We have designed these performances to serve children and families with sensory sensitivities. Through our partnership with the University of South Florida’s Center for Autism and Related Disabilities (CARD), we are making the whole experience (preparation, Musical Playtime, and performance) sensory friendly.
Presented by the North Suncoast Associates volunteers, the Instrument Petting Zoo offers young children and their families an opportunity to see, touch, hear, and play the instruments of the orchestra. This program provides a unique, free opportunity for children to deepen their understanding of the orchestra, and encourages future enjoyment and participation in instrumental music.
The Instrument Petting Zoo can be reserved for events based upon availability. Please fill out an Instrument Petting Zoo inquiry and TFO staff will respond to your request within 5 business days.
